Anna Kloc Rodriguez, Music Director of Townview Orchestras
I started to play cello and piano in 3rd grade. In 8th grade I got admitted to a famous music high School under the name of Karol Szymanowski, in the south of Poland in the city of Katowice. After high school I was accepted to Academy of Music in Katowice and studied under the cello professor Mr. L. Mielimaka. I also studied with some of the best music teachers in Poland including maestro M.Mos, Professor Szydlowska and A. Jasinski. While in the Academy, I performed with various Orchestras in Poland.
In 1989, I received a scholarship from University of North Texas in Denton TX to study cello performance and musical education. I received my Master of Music Performance from UNT in 1993. I worked here with distinguished teachers like Carter Enyart, Cecil Adkins & Anshel Brusilow among many others.
After college, I performed with Irving Symphony Orchestra, East Texas Symphony Orchestra, and many other musical ensembles in the Metroplex. In 1993 I started to work as a orchestra & music teacher in Martinez Learning Center and I started a Suzuki program for elementary school students.
In 2003 I interviewed for a Orchestra position in Townview Magnet HS and I’m conducting this Orchestras till today.
I’m married to Lee Rodriguez who is a Math and Science teacher in Dallas ISD. My son Aleksander is a sophomore in UTA in Arlington, TX. Our baby girl is a German Shepherd, Sierra.My hobbies include: hiking, biking, Pilates, reading and solving puzzles.
